Jeannie Su, MD MAS, is a native of Los Angeles. Dr. Su graduated summa cum laude with a double major in Economics and Biology from the Medical Scholar program at the University of California, San Diego (a legacy BA/MD). During her time at UC San Diego medical school, she dedicated an extra year to complete a Masters in Clinical Research.
She then underwent a general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine. During residency, she conducted research and gave several presentations at both the regional and national level at the annual American Urologic Association conference as well as internationally at the World Congress of Endourology conference in Paris. She also published a book chapter on urologic anatomy.
Following residency, she completed a fellowship in robotics and urologic oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, CA.
Dr. Su treats both medical and surgical general urologic conditions such as kidney stones, male and female urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone. Her clinical interest and expertise lie in urologic oncology including prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and bladder cancer. She utilizes both open and minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and endourology in the operating room.
When she is not taking care of patients, she enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her family.
