What is surgery recovery like?

On average, a vaginoplasty procedure requires about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete. Swelling is common after surgery, and ice packs can be used to reduce swelling at this time.

Vaginoplasty recovery time is minimal. Patients should rest for one to two days after treatment, and most patients can return to work within about one week of surgery. However, patients should wait at least three weeks before they resume regular exercise and approximately six weeks before they engage in sex.
